Branching out into RE Video

In this post, I’m sharing two different edits of this first real estate video job. Many versions of the video were created as I learned the software. Each version taught me something new about how I can improve on the next shoot, how to shoot to avoid certain editing needs, how to edit to improve my footage and even how to coach for voice over recordings.

MLK Day Celebration

MLK Day March & Celebration on Monday, January 21 was my second event shoot in Tucson. My focus for the day was the celebration (speakers) in Reid Park. As one of several freelance photographers covering the event, it felt like quite a collective and communal event.

Women’s March Tucson

The Women’s March Tucson was my first photo event in town. It was a beautiful and energizing day. I captured images that represented the community and event participants in a balanced way.

Lunar Eclipse – January 20-21, 2019

We’ve been given our own light sources and if we contemplate long enough with adequate tools, we can see more and more light and experience more and more of life.

Below are images taken from my backyard of the super blood moon lunar eclipse on the evening of January 20, 2019 in Marana, AZ (southwest USA).

Test Shoot: Rhonda, “Delete the rest.”

Her response to her image gallery was, “Thanks for all your hard work! I see sickness in most of my photos…. I choose the ones I like…. I ask that you delete the rest.” I think her images and her comments add a great deal to the larger conversation of Black Womanhood in America. How we internalize our grief and disappointment. How they solidify and weigh us down in a deep abyss of cyclical suffering. How we can become incapable of seeing pass that one thing (situation, heartbreak, betrayal) that first knocked us down.

Small Business: Howard, B&B Owner

Howard’s personality and home provided the perfect opportunity to practice capturing personality and energy through my lens. He and his bed & breakfast are full of vibrant color and eclectic personality.

Test Event: Women In the Black – Who’s the Boss

The Women in Black: Who’s the Boss Women’s Business Conference was the first of several events I attended this summer in an eveffort to go where BlackWomen were congreegated and ask for their time and paricipation in order to share our collective experiences with the world.
